Satay is an elevated take on Thai cuisine — chef-driven plates, a velvet-and-rattan dining room, and the warm hospitality of a family that has been feeding Fresno for two generations.
"Food tasted amazing and presentation was beautiful. The menu is marked with GF items and staff were wonderful with allergies."
"Stunning woven chandeliers, plush green velvet bar, and a green curry that's gingery, garlicky, and just the right level of spice."
"A modern twist on Thai cuisine in north Fresno — a husband-and-wife duo bring elevated plates to Chestnut & Shepherd."

Satay was born from David Rasavong and Anna Le Nguyen — together with cousins Tito Thepkaysone and Sophorn So — a family carrying forward a legacy that started with David's parents, immigrants from Laos who built a life here through the recipes they loved.
Inside, woven rattan chandeliers drape through twisting greenery. A softly lit bar with arched shelves and emerald velvet stools invites you to linger. Every plate is a modern interpretation of dishes the family has been perfecting for years.
"Served with the warmth and hospitality of family."
Every photo below was shot by a guest or a journalist who actually visited Satay. No staged stock, no AI — just the real room and the real food.
